FAQ
If I am outside of the service area, will I still be able to receive services?
Yes, even if you live outside of the service area services can still be provided for the nominal fee of $1.25 a mile. This fee is not round trip, just covers the cost of wear and tear of the work vehicle, gas, and time to get to you.
The travel fee seems to be a lot, is there anyway to get a discount?
Eventually, YES! Once more clients have been established within your area I will try to group schedule clients (groups of 3 or more), and the travel fee will be divided equally amongst everyone scheduled for that day.
Do you work with animals that kick?
Since my body is my livelihood, I can't afford to be injured. However, I am willing to come out and assess whether or not I can help. If the animal turns out to be too dangerous for me to work with, it may be advised to have a veterinarian present to use a tranquilizer.
Getting your animals accustomed to their feet being picked up, and messed with is a huge responsibility, but in the long run keeps everyone safe.
Can I reschedule/cancel my appointment?
As a courtesy we ask that a 24hr notice be given for all rescheduling or cancellations. If the 24hr period is up and you've not notified myself or Admin of the changes a $25.00 fee will be added to your next bill.
Do I have to be present while my horse is being trimmed/shoed?
I ask for the safety and protection of myself and that of your animals, that you or a responsible adult (i.e. Vet, Trainer, Spouse etc.) be present.
Why am I being charged this?
When working on horses, it's not always evident that there's an underlying issue until I start trimming. Sometimes abscesses, founder, cracks etc. may need extra treatment that wasn't included in the original pricing. Before any further services are done, I will always talk with you as the owner to go over expenses. If you would rather speak to your vet on the issues pointed out I will gladly communicate with your vet on what they would like to see done.
Do you only do hot shoeing?
No, if your horse has never been exposed to hot shoeing I am willing to either work with them to be more comfortable with the process, or if you prefer, and to eliminate possible stress I am also willing to work within their comfort zone and cold shoe, although this may take a little longer.
